One of The Best Speech During COVID-19

Dear Friends, This is one of the best and most intelligent public speech, I recently read.  I really felt its a wisdom to share with you all. Uganda President KAGUTA MUSEVENI  while addressing his nation  warns against people misbehaving during this COVID-19 period,  "God has a lot of work, He has the whole world to look after. He cannot just be here in Uganda looking after idiots...". Below is his reported statement. "In a war situation, nobody asks anyone to stay indoors. You stay indoors by choice. In fact, if you have a basement, you hide there for as long as hostilities persist. During a war, you don't insist on your freedom. You willingly give it up in exchange for survival. During a war, you don't complain of hunger. You bear hunger and pray that you live to eat again During a war, you don't argue about opening your business. You close your shop (if you have the time), and run for your life. You pray to outlive the war so that

EVERY PICTURE TELLS A STORY...........

ONE PICTURE IS WORTH A THOUSAND SCREAMS GOOSEBUMPS - SAY CHEESE AND DIE WRITTEN BY: R.L.STINE Say cheese and die.......... sounds a little creepy right? Well the story is as creepy as the title itself.During this lockdown period the most interesting thing I could possibly do was read books,of course. As I have written in my previous blog 'The secret garden' ,I like to read mysterious and curious books. What I did forgot to mention is that I also like to read creepy and scary books as well. We all have heard that'Books let you travel without moving your feet'.It really feels that you are the main character of the book and you are the one fighting and solving all the problems while reading a book, and when it is a horror fiction novel ,it really feels so real and spooky. If you want to have a adventure or just want to be away from the place for awhile and if you can't go exploring or leave the the place at the moment, then I recommend you to read books.Just like u

MOTHER THERESA

MOTHER THERESA GEORGE JOSEPH SHARON BOOKS Dear friends I am Vaishnavi of class IX.   During the lock down period I happened to be with my grandparents.   Believe me, I have a great time here.   We do have a good collection of books here. Searching for a book that can interest me, this book on one of the greatest souls ever to live on Earth reached my hands. The language of the book is as simple as the life lead by the Great Soul.   It really touched me.   I have heard of the saying, “charity begins from home”. After reading this book I became very sure of the saying.   Charity actually begins from home; from oneself.   Each one of us has to hear that “inner call” and respond to it. I am looking forward to sharing another experience with another book in the days to come. Till then Bye.  Take care. Stay Home, Stay Safe.
As everybody knows, our country is in complete lockdown due to the coronavirus. During this lockdown period, I read the famous book ‘Gulliver’s travels’ written by Jonathan Swift. Jonathan Swift was born in Dublin in 1667. In 1704, he published anonymously ‘A tale of a tub’ with ‘The battle of the books’-the former being a brilliant satire on Roman Catholics and on Calvinists. He has been called the earliest and greatest of journalists and the prince of leader-writers. Gulliver’s Travels is by far his most famous work. The story is about the unfortunate voyages of Lemuel Gulliver to Lilliput, where he was the biggest person, and to Brobdingnag, where he was the smallest person. This book actually has four volumes, but only the two volumes which are most popular, ‘A Voyage To Lilliput’ and ‘A Voyage To Brobdingnag’ are mentioned. This story has been enjoyed by people of all ages for the last 250 years and whilst it will make us laugh, it will also make us think. In this story, Le

Around the world in 80 days

Around the world in 80 days By:ks.Afsana  and ks.Rehan Book: Around  the world in 80 days Author: Jules Verne             In these lockdown days, reading books is a good idea for spending time. so, I have been reading a book named "Around the world in 80 days" by Jules Verne. It is a very interesting and adventurou s story.             The story starts from a man named Phileas fogg, who is settled in England. He was a man who valued time the most.He was also a member of the Reform club.                        One day, he headed to the Reform club as usual. After some time, a conversation broke out ,first, about a theft in the bank and finally ended with a discussion about travelling the world in 80 days. Everyone did not agree with Phileas fogg.At that time , he takes a bet for 20,000 to prove he was right. He then asks his servant Passepartout to get ready for a big journey. The two travellers faced many countless obstacles on their way. They saw many beautiful pla

"Expériences d'un lecteur électronique"

Expériences d'un lecteur électronique Wondering just about what the title means?? It simply the experiences  of an e-reader(it's french.......just so that it appears interesting.)     Sitting in the confines of my house I had no possible way of borrowing or buying a new book when I turned to e-reading and to say the truth it didn't quite offer me the connection that I feel with the characters of the story when I have the physical copy in my hand. But then it has been a great help to me economically( I finished 6 books which would have cost me over ₹2000.)           I loved reading Raavan :The Enemy of Aryavarta by Amish. It's the third book in the Ramachandra series and it presents Raavan from a very different perspective. He is portrayed as a hero in his own right. The story covers his birth, the hardships that made him, his never ending love for his brother Kumbhakarna and the reason as to why he turns out be the villain of the story.            I also ha

Reading maketh a full man.............Francis Bacon

In my message I had made it quite clear how reading can transform one's thoughts and reform man kind as a whole.                         SIDDHARTHA :   HERMAN HESSE The book I read once more these days was, "SIDDHARTHA' by Herman Hesse, the great German writer. Ever since the book came to my hands nearly quarter a century ago I might have gone through this book quite a number of times - reading it in full and in parts!  Every reading of it has been totally a different experience - a unique one at that.   The novel reflects Hesse's profound regard for Indian philosophy.  The novel talks about the journey of Siddhartha, the Hero,  and his deep desire to conquer ''suffering and fear'.  The road ahead was never easy and comfortable for him as he had taken the "The Road Not Taken" by many.  There were temptations around that could easily trap a man ordinary.  But then, Siddhartha was sure of his destination and was determined to reach t

Books: My most valuable assets

Reading is my favourite hobby. I love to read books. I had been reading many books from our school library which has a vast collection of books. I recently read the Alchemist by Paulo Coelho published by Harper Collins . This is the story of a shepherd boy named Santiago Martin from Andalusia who dreams of travelling the world in search of a treasure.Though many hardships and challenges comes his way, he overcome those and finally finds his treasure. It is an unforgettable story about listening to our heart, realizing our destiny and above all following our dreams. This book is truly  inspirational. Now I am reading Rich Dad Poor Dad by Robert T. Kiyosaki published by Plata.  My father gave me this book. At first I was not interested in this book because it was a finance book. But when I started reading,I found it very interesting. Robert says that he had a rich dad and a poor dad.Poor dad is Robert's father and rich dad is his best friend Mike's father.Robert

Books are the greatest blessing

It is a great pleasure to be a part of a forum that discusses books. Books have always been my best friends. I turn to them in joy and sorrow and feel strongly that life without books would be impossible. I appreciate the initiative taken by Mrs. Anitha, our librarian and Mr. Rajendran, our Principal. As Sir rightly pointed out in his message, books are the greatest blessing, especially in these trying times. I am happy to see that students have turned to reading. I,too, am making use of the lockdown to widen my reading experience. Apart from some bestsellers, I read two interesting books recently. 'Home" by Manju Kapur, published by Penguin, is an interesting story of the conflicts that arise in a joint family due to the changes in society. Manju Kapur had impressed me with her deep insight into the workings of the human mind in the book, 'Difficult Daughters'. This book follows the changes in a family through three generations. The sari-selling family must cope wi

Harry Potterand the Soccerer's stone by J. K Rowling

Author- J.K Rowling Book no-1     Hi, my name is Ruha Susan Ebi. Iam a student of class 9.   I had been reading a series  of harry potter books by J.K Rowling.  This book was given to me by my best freind Aparna. Message from The Principal

“Books are good company, in sad times and happy times, for books are people – people who have managed to stay alive by hiding between the covers of a book.”     E.B.White Friends, in bad times we are, no doubt.   But should we remain sad.   In fact the greatest challenges have offered the best opportunities for the human race.   Now we do have one at our doorstep. And how lucky we are……all such instances of the past have been recorded in books for us to read, experience and overcome.   I think all my wonderful students and members of staff would greatly enjoy and be benefitted by “reading books”.   I know many are habitual readers. Here is a platform (blog) for all of us to share: The book that you are reading now with all its details (Name, Author, Publisher etc.) Why did you pick that book, who introduced it to you, where did you get the book from How much did you enjoy the book/how much did it disappoint you and why   & a lot more about the book.
