       DURING THIS LOCKDOWN PERIOD I READ THE BOOK NAMED THE OATH OF THE VAYUPUTRAS BY AMISH TRIPATHI.AMISH TRIPATHI (BORN 18 OCT 1974 ) IS AN INDIAN DIPLOMAT,COLUMNIST AND AUTHOR,KNOWN FOR HIS NOVELS “THE IMMORTALS OF MELUHA”, “THE SECRETS OF NAGAS”,”THE OATH OF THE VAYUPUTRAS”,”RAM:SCION OF IKSHVAKU”,”SITA:THE WARRIOR OF MITHILA” AND “RAAVAN:ENEMY OF ARYAVARTHA.FIRST THREE BOOKS COMPRISE THE SHIVA TRILOGY AND THE REST THREE BOOKS OF THE RAM CHANDRA SERIES.THESE BOOKS ARE PUBLISHED BY WESTLAND LTD.          THE STORY IS FACINATING.IT TAKES US TO THE ANCIENT HISTORY AND MYTHOLOGY.THE MOMENT YOU START READING,YOU ARE DRAWN INTO THE HISTORY AND INTO THEIR LAND.I READ THE FIRST TWO BOOKS FROM THE LIBRARY.THE THIRD BOOK I GOT FROM MY BROTHER.THE MOMENT I GOT THE BOOK I WAS VERY MUCH ANXIOUS TO KNOW THE REST OF THE STORY.                 SHIVA!THE MAHADEV. THE GOD OF GODS.DESTROYER OF THE EVILS.NO FOREIGNER WHO CAME TO INDIA BELIEVED THAT SUCH A MAN EXISTED IN REALITIY.THEY ASSUMED HE MUST HAVE BEEN A MYTHICAL GOD,A PERSON WHO WAS CREATED BY HUMANIMAGINATION.BUT WHAT IF WE ARE WRONG? HE WAS A MAN WHO ROSE TO BECOME GOD AS A RESULT OF HIS KARMA.A PERSON WITH BLUE THROAT WHOM EVERYONE CONSIDERED AS A GOD,THE NEELKANTH.EVIL HAS RISEN ONLY A GOD CAN STOP IT.THE STORY BEGINS IN THE PLACE NAMED MELUHA.                           THE IMMORTALS OF MELUHA WAS THE 1ST BOOK IN THE TRILOGY THAT CHRONICLES THE JOURNEY OF THIS EXTRAORDINARY HERO.THE STORY WAS CONTINUED IN THE 2NDBOOK,THE SECRET OF THE NAGAS.AND IT WILL END IN THE  THE OATH OF THE VAYUPUTRAS. THIS IS A FICTIONAL SERIES AS A TRIBUTE TO LORD SHIVA. MOTHER THERESA GEORGE JOSEPH SHARON BOOKS Dear friends I am Vaishnavi of class IX.   During the lock down period I happened to be with my grandparents.   Believe me, I have a great time here.   We do have a good collection of books here. Searching for a book that can interest me, this book on one of the greatest souls ever to live on Earth reached my hands. The language of the book is as simple as the life lead by the Great Soul.   It really touched me.   I have heard of the saying, “charity begins from home”. After reading this book I became very sure of the saying.   Charity actually begins from home; from oneself.   Each one of us has to hear that “inner call” and respond to it. Books are the greatest blessing

It is a great pleasure to be a part of a forum that discusses books. Books have always been my best friends. I turn to them in joy and sorrow and feel strongly that life without books would be impossible. I appreciate the initiative taken by Mrs. Anitha, our librarian and Mr. Rajendran, our Principal. As Sir rightly pointed out in his message, books are the greatest blessing, especially in these trying times. I am happy to see that students have turned to reading. I,too, am making use of the lockdown to widen my reading experience. Apart from some bestsellers, I read two interesting books recently. 'Home" by Manju Kapur, published by Penguin, is an interesting story of the conflicts that arise in a joint family due to the changes in society. Manju Kapur had impressed me with her deep insight into the workings of the human mind in the book, 'Difficult Daughters'. This book follows the changes in a family through three generations.
